Meeting of friends

February 2, Saturday, a meeting takes place at which the results of our previous work will be summarized and perspectives of our further contribution to the promotion of intercultural dialogue will be outlined. Also it is planned to determine the personal composition of the Board of Trustees.

Interview in "Verasen'"

Last December the seventh issue of a literary and art magazine "Verasen'" ("September") was published, where an interview with the General Director of the Institution "Intercultural Dialogue" Liubou Uladykouskaja "Belarus exists only if Belarusian language is alive" was printed. In a conversation with the author of the publication Maryna Jausejchyk Liubou Uladykouskaja told about her special attitude to American culture, explained the importance of the cultural dialogue with the U.S.A. for Belarus, commented on the problems of the state of culture, national language and modern society in Belarus, raised issues of national and human dignity. I wish you a very Merry Christmas! I hope you are with your family this day, sharing in gifts and a Christmas fest. I wish you to feel Christmas as a holiday of faith, a day of eternal optimism, a time when the spirit is full.


Our deepest condolences

We express our deepest condolences to the American people and the relatives at the murders of the children and their educators in the elementary school in Connecticut. This horrendous crime has shoked us and made us desire fervently that such crimes won't repeat anymore. We wish the sorrow of the parents, relatives of the victims be eased.

Acceptance of Conception of Development of Belarusian National Platform of Civil Society

November 16, 2012 at the Conference of the National Platform of the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership was accepted the Conception of Development of Belarusian National Platform of Civil Society.


II International Congress of Belarusian Studies

28-30 September 2012, in Kaunas (Lithuania), the II International Congress of Belarusian Studies took place. The Congress was attended by more than 350 researchers and guests not only from Belarus, but also from Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. The numerous sections covered a wide range of topics - the history of Belarus, as well as its present and future. It's safe to say that this 2nd Congress became a unique event in the field of Belarusian studies, it managed to gather such the number of researchers of Belarus with such the diversity of topics of the reports.

January 19, 2011 the Intercultural Dialogue Center and the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus organized presentation of the collective book "Preservation of the National Originality in the Context of Development of the Intercultural Dialogue" with participation of the head of the UN Office in Belarus Antonius Broek, head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Belarus, Jean-Eric Holzapfel, heads and representatives of 17 European countries, diplomatic missions, government, business, Christian groups, renowned scholars and artists, public figures, representatives of the media.


Meeting with the US Delegation

Head of the Centre together with its representatives met with the US delegation on June 9, 2011. Agenda of the meeting included the presentation of the Belarusian national culture and the Humanities, as well as discussion of the forms of the Belarusian-American humanitarian – cultural dialogue development. 

A Number of Proposals

Intercultural Dialogue Centre has received a number of proposals on extending the organizational possibilities on realization of the Charter aims and tasks. At the present time a scientific – analytical expertise of those proposals is being conducted, as well as maximally effective model of further development of the Centre and its cooperation with research and cultural communities of Belarus, other European countries and the USA is being worked out. 


In the course of March a number of meetings of the Centre’s representatives with ambassadors of different countries to Belarus took place, as well as visits to the Delegation of the European Union to Poland and to its Headquarters in Brussels did, for discussion of cooperation issues and making contacts with civil organizations. Liubou Uladykouskaja, Director General of the Centre, held meetings with students of different Universities in Minsk, discussing the contemporary intercultural dialogue and participation in volunteer movement.
