Results of the meeting of friends

February 2, the Institution “Intercultural Dialogue” gathered its friends for the purpose of summarizing results of the activity and setting an agenda for the future.

Representatives of intellectual, artistic, spiritual and business elite visited the meeting. Among them were an academician, honorary director of the Institute of Sociology of National Academy of Sciences Yaugen Babosau; an academician, President of the International Association of Belarusists Michail Kastsiuk; a professor, the head of a subdepartment of the Belarusian State University Anatol Zeliankou; a professor, the head of a subdepartment of Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank Tatsiana Kamarouskaya; a professor, Director of the Institute of Management and Social Technologies of the Belarusian State University, former education minister Piotr Brigadzin; a professor of Belarusian State Linguistics University, Chairman of the Belarusian Association of American Studies Yuri Stulau; a professor, former education minister and former rector of the Belarusian State University Vasil Strazhau; a professor, senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the NAS of Belarus Volga Paulouskaja; an archpriest, director of the Department for education and catechesis of Minsk diocesan administration of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, father Aliaxander Shymbaliou; General Director of the Belarusian-American joint company “Alexandrov Passage” Aleg Dzenisyuk; Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers Canstantsine Kalamiyets and other known persons.

The founder and General Director of the Institution “Intercultural Dialogue” Liubou Uladykovskaja made a presentation on the results of activity for the period 2010-2012. She also presented proposals for further development of international activities in the field of intercultural dialogue. According to her, intercultural dialogue is an area that is the most wanted in the field of the humanities and social practice of the modern world. It is in the field of intercultural dialogue that Belarus can act as an equal partner at the global level. There is a whole system of organizations that are engaged in cross-cultural dialogue on different continents, and the main task of these organizations is to expand the context of mutual respect and partnership.

Subsequently the goals of the Institution “Intercultural Dialogue” is in the field of the Belarusian authentity and expanding the context of intercultural dialogue.

The task is
– to establish a constructive dialogue with the European and American nations,
and methods are
– to expand a positive knowledge about Belarus in the world through the promotion of excellence in the arts (professional and popular) culture, science, education, business, religion and other spheres of social life;
– as well as an international, interdisciplinary research and presentation of results (publications, conferences, forums, workshops, exhibitions, performances in the media, etc.). in contemporary intercultural dialogue (national and international).

A heated discussion aroused about the work plan for 2013. It was decided to determine the main activities such as:
– strengthening institutionally (friendship, volunteering, board of trustees, an ongoing relationship with organizations in different continents);
– the development of the Belarusian-American dialogue through enhanced cooperation with our American partners and a number of projects in the field of intercultural dialogue;
– the development of Belarus-EU dialogue through implementation of international research and education projects.

The plan of concrete measures is to be adopted in the near future after consultations with the experts.

With an unanimous decision of all present the following list of members of the board of trustees of the Institution “Intercultural Dialogue” was approved:
1. Prof. Vasil Strazhau, a former education minister and former rector of the Belarusian State University – the Chairman.
2. Father Seraphim, a bishop of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
3. The bishop of the Catholic Church in Belarus Anthony Dziamyanka.
4. The bishop of Evangelical Christians-Baptists of Belarus Viktar Krutsko.
5. Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Coordination Council of the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship Vladzimir Karagin.
6. Director of the State Institute of Management and Social Technologies of the Belarusian State University, prof. Piotr Brigadzin, a former education minister.
7. General Director of the joint Belarusian-American company “Alexandrov Passage” Aleg Dzenisyuk.
8. A chairman of the Board of a bank (a candidate is asked about agreement).
9. A member of the Union of Artists of Belarus (a candidate is asked about agreement).
