Meeting with K. Müller

On March 5, in the office of the Institution "Intercultural Dialogue", a meeting with the Head of the Information Office of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Minsk Mrs Kerstin Müller took place, during which the ways of cooperation with universities in Germany and the DAAD were discussed. From the part of the institution the General Director Liubou Uladykouskaja, the Executive Director Igor Haritonov, the Coordinator of Projects with Germany Valiantsina Raketskaya were participating.

Visit to Poland

From 09 to 16 February the General Director Liubou Uladykouskaja is on a visit to Poland. The program includes a meeting with managers of a number of Polish institutions of higher education.

Meeting with G. Verheugen

24 January 2013 General Director of the Institution "Intercultural Dialogue" Liubou Uladykouskaja and Executive Director of the Instituton Igor Haritonov attended the meeting with a former European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, former vice-president of the European Commission, Professor Gunther Verheugen that took place at the International Education Centre named after Johannes Rau in Minsk. The meeting was organized by this centre, the German community of foreign policy (DGAP), the Robert Bosch Foundation, the NGO "Liberal Club". G. Verheugen took part in the panel discussion "The Present and Future of the European Union", told about his vision of the future of the European Union, responded to questions from the audience.

Meeting of friends

February 2, Saturday, a meeting takes place at which the results of our previous work will be summarized and perspectives of our further contribution to the promotion of intercultural dialogue will be outlined. Also it is planned to determine the personal composition of the Board of Trustees.

Interview in "Verasen'"

Last December the seventh issue of a literary and art magazine "Verasen'" ("September") was published, where an interview with the General Director of the Institution "Intercultural Dialogue" Liubou Uladykouskaja "Belarus exists only if Belarusian language is alive" was printed. In a conversation with the author of the publication Maryna Jausejchyk Liubou Uladykouskaja told about her special attitude to American culture, explained the importance of the cultural dialogue with the U.S.A. for Belarus, commented on the problems of the state of culture, national language and modern society in Belarus, raised issues of national and human dignity. Our deepest condolences

We express our deepest condolences to the American people and the relatives at the murders of the children and their educators in the elementary school in Connecticut. This horrendous crime has shoked us and made us desire fervently that such crimes won't repeat anymore. We wish the sorrow of the parents, relatives of the victims be eased.

II International Congress of Belarusian Studies

28-30 September 2012, in Kaunas (Lithuania), the II International Congress of Belarusian Studies took place. The Congress was attended by more than 350 researchers and guests not only from Belarus, but also from Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. The numerous sections covered a wide range of topics - the history of Belarus, as well as its present and future. It's safe to say that this 2nd Congress became a unique event in the field of Belarusian studies, it managed to gather such the number of researchers of Belarus with such the diversity of topics of the reports.
