Center for Intercultural Dialogue with the support from the US Embassy in Belarus in cooperation with International Fund “Golden Heritage of Vitebsk” and the Institute of Sociology of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences launches the open competition
«American Culture: What is it Like?»
The creative works can be submitted by individual authors or group of individuals independent of their age, profession, occupation, country of residence and should reflect one of the questions:
“Attractiveness of American Culture”, “Belarusian Emphases in American Culture”
in two nominations:
a) Essay, poetry; b) picture, drawing, photo.
The works should be submitted before December 31, 2011 to the email BelarusAmer@gmail.com or mailing address: Surganov str, 1-2, room 1015, Minsk, Belarus 220072 with the remark “Competition”.
The short list will be published by January 30, 2012. The winners will be announced by February 28, 2012.
Essays and poetry works should be submitted in the Belarusian Language in .doc file and be up to 2,000 words.
Each participant can submit up to three pictures, photos or drawings.
Each work should be accompanied with a note in the Belarusian Language that states the full name of the author (group of authors), their age, occupation, place of residence, contact phone number and e-mail address as well as a short description of the work and the history of its creation up to two pages.
An international exhibition of the best works will be organized. The best works will also be published in a separate collection, on websites and media.
The reward includes a valuable prize and a certificate.
The winners will also receive support for the participation in American exchange programs and invited for participation in the American Club.
Jury may decide to honor the works from the short list that will not be among the winners with certificates and special prizes.
